Welcome to MentorMatch. By creating an account and using the platform, you accept the following Terms and Conditions. These Terms are accepted by ticking the checkbox when creating an account on MentorMatch.

1. About the Platform

MentorMatch is an online platform that connects students and tutors for private tutoring and academic support.

MentorMatch acts solely as an intermediary between users and is not a party to the tutoring arrangements or agreements entered into between students and tutors.

2. User Accounts

Users are responsible for:

Users must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the platform. By creating an account, the user confirms that they meet this age requirement.

MentorMatch reserves the right to suspend or delete user accounts in the event of misuse or violation of these Terms.

3. Matching and Contact Details

Students can send applications to tutors through the platform. The MentorMatch process works as follows:

  1. The student sends an application to a tutor.
  2. The tutor may accept or reject the application.
  3. If the tutor accepts, the student may accept or reject the tutor.
  4. Once both parties have accepted the match, the tutor may pay for access to the student's contact details.
  5. Contact details are shared only after payment has been completed.

MentorMatch does not guarantee that a match will result in a tutoring arrangement or an ongoing collaboration between the parties.

4. Payment

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, such as Stripe.

Tutors pay for access to contact details and not for a guaranteed tutoring arrangement. Payment for the tutoring itself is agreed upon and settled directly between the student and the tutor. MentorMatch receives no payment for tutoring sessions and charges no commission on them.

Current prices are displayed on the platform's pricing page. MentorMatch does not offer subscriptions unless clearly stated on the platform. Prices and payment terms may change from time to time and will be displayed on the platform.

By purchasing access to contact details, the tutor agrees that delivery of the digital service begins immediately after payment has been completed. Once the contact details have been made available to the tutor, the service is considered delivered. The tutor acknowledges that the right of withdrawal expires once the digital service has been fully delivered and the contact details have been made available.

5. Refunds

Refund requests are assessed manually and granted only in exceptional cases, such as:

Lack of response, lack of further contact, or failure to establish cooperation between the student and the tutor does not normally qualify for a refund.

6. Conduct and Misuse

The following is not permitted:

MentorMatch may suspend or permanently block users in the event of suspected misuse or violation of these rules.

7. Limitation of Liability

MentorMatch is not responsible for:

Use of the platform is at the user's own risk. MentorMatch is not a party to payment agreements between students and tutors and cannot guarantee that payment will be completed between users.

Users who intentionally fail to pay for agreed tutoring services may have their accounts suspended or permanently removed.

Tutors are solely responsible for complying with applicable tax and VAT regulations regarding income earned through tutoring arranged via the platform. MentorMatch is not responsible for tutors' tax obligations or reporting to the tax authorities.
